Some Linux distributions or older tools require Secure Boot to be disabled. Enter your BIOS/UEFI (usually F2, Del, or F12 during boot) and:
Select the installation directory (it is often recommended to install to an SSD first, even if you plan to move the game to an HDD later, to speed up the process).
Go back to > Virus & threat protection > Exclusions (Manage settings). Click Add or remove exclusions > Add an exclusion > Folder . Select the folder where you just installed the game. Turn Real-time protection back ON . ⚠️ Common Troubleshooting

Wait 45 minutes minimum. Then reboot. Most modern installers are journaled and can resume after an unexpected reboot.
Real-time protection often flags these installers as "False Positives" and may "eat" essential setup files. You should turn off Real-time protection in your Windows Security settings before running the setup.
